Priority Issues
LOCAL BUSINESS PROMOTION AND GROWTH:
I am dedicated to enhancing and expanding the local business landscape in Youngsville. We must focus on growing and developing businesses that are going to bring jobs and people into the city of Youngsville. As a former educator I would love to see a trade school built, something like Remington College that can train people on HVAC/Plumbing/Welding/Carpentry/Barbers/Etc. By developing trades within the community, it increases jobs for one, but it also provides entrepreneurial opportunities for new businesses to open as these trades are developed. I think we also have a need for a hardware store, be it locally owned or something like a Tractor Supply or Harbor Freight. I know personally when I’m doing wood working or tasks around the house, it is frustrating not being able to pick-up a box of screws or an extra 2×4 within a few minutes of the house.
IMPROVING INFRASTRUCTURE:
A key concern for me is the improving/upgrading the infrastructure in Youngsville. I am determined to address issues related to transportation, traffic, drainage, and roads to enhance the overall quality of life for residents. When you think of maintaining a cities infrastructure: roads, drainage, regular maintenance, etc. having a strong economy to create a tax base to support all of that is essential. When we develop a strong economy within our city, the sky will be the limit for what Youngsville will be able to accomplish. It is exciting to think about the future of a self-sustaining Youngsville, capable of managing all its needs within the confines of our own city for our citizens.
FOCUS ON FAMILY:
I believe that a strong community is one that places a significant emphasis on the well-being of its families. I am dedicated to improving parks and recreational facilities to cater to the diverse needs of Youngsville families. I would also like to focus on Foster Park. The city did a fantastic job in getting this park back up and running, but we have a hidden gem in this community park that would benefit from some more upgrades. I would like to see the park made into an amazing community park that we can utilize for families and people of all ages, I envision a smaller Moncus Park like in Lafayette.
GROWING NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS:
I recognize the invaluable role that non-profit organizations play in the community. I am committed to supporting and nurturing these organizations to ensure that they can continue their vital work for the benefit of Youngsville residents.
